Week 16 (12/07 - 12/11)
Who's in Mrs. Huang's classroom this week: Morning BLUE Class ; Afternoon RED Class
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
1. Both Mrs. Hansen and me will be on training on Tuesday (12/08) afternoon. No worries! We have the best subs. ^_^
2. Be sure you review Thursday's homework with your kids because that will be the same as the test we will have on Friday.
3. As always, I strongly suggest that our students complete their Chinese homework with stroke orders. The importance of stroke order is that it helps our students to remember the character by their hand muscle. It functions similar with the way you type which you don’t remember which finger triggers which letter but you can type it fast without thinking while your fingers are on the key board. This is the reason why I really want our students to use the stroke order function in our website.
Again, please utilize the function of handwriting practice which many parents love it. Our students can use mouse to “write” the word in stroke order. If the student didn’t write it in the right order, the stroke won’t show up. And it will give the student a hint if he/she wrote 3 times in wrong stroke order. To go to the function, please go to our class website first. And then click on the character under “Homework download” and it will open a new window. Then click on the brush under the word, then you will be able to practice handwriting the character.
4. I love adding new learning games in classroom every week. Go and watch our students' videos and pictures to see what new games we have. Don't forget to watch them with your kids so you can ask them what they were doing. Isn't it a great family activity to have your kids telling you what they've done in school?! I love letting all parents feel like you are on the same page with us even though you don't physically present in our classroom. Videos link here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3bRV48od70YPfCCfNWJHAQ and pictures link here for week 15: http://2ndchinesedli.weebly.com/week-15-1130---1204.html
FYI: If you have little kids who are not in school yet, read this: Story Time with Santa at Tooele City Library at 11am to 12 pm on Wednesday, 12/09. Santa Claus will read his favorite holiday story and hear your Christmas wishes. Fun photo opportunities and holiday activities, as well!
