Chinese homework stroke Order, definition, and handwriting practice
To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character (or the character you want your kid to practice) below, and it will open a new window. Then click on the brush under the word, then you will be able to practice handwriting the character. I really love the function and hope our kids can utilize it. ^_^

- Let's welcome a new classmate in our class!! His name is "Huang Bao Bao" (meaning Huang baby). He is a teddy bear. :) Today (02/23/2016) is his birthday. Student sing a birthday song for him today. Isn't that sweet! He is now a reading buddy in our class. Students love to read to/with him. They love to hug him too. They love him so much! ^_^

Then I have students to hold it again in the middle of class and it won't change color. Students know that their hands are hotter after they are having some activity outside (running, walking...). When they sit still for la while, they hands are warm but not warm enough to change the toy's color.

- Superhero t-shirts day: Be a hero stand up against bullies. I took photos on red class with their superhero t-shirts on but I forgot to do it on blue class. There are just too many things need to be done within so limited time on Wednesday.
- We talked about "bullies" and "respect" with students today.

- Hat-day: Hats off to those that don't bully.
- Bully Prevention/Dance performance Assembly 2:40. It's an awesome performance and wonderful bully prevention education. Kids love it (don't have the camera with me, so no photos.).
- Encore: 1 pm to 3pm (PE/computer/art/library)

- Writing: Writing sentences: "他 们 在 做 什 么 ? (What are they doing?) and 我 在 做 回 家 功 课。(I am doing my homework.)

- Activities: Student wrote dome "他 们 在 做 什 么 ? (What are they doing?) and 我 在 做 回 家 功 课。(I am doing my homework.) on a worksheet. And then they cut them down to one word one piece. Students then:
2. three people in a group and play "heart attack" game with the word they just cut off.
These two are great activities for students to practice on sentence writing, speaking, and recognize the words.
Meth:
- Red class completed topic 11-2. This is first time I have students to write math story in Chinese. Many students are doing great! They write their own math story, not copy mine! So proud of our students!

You may noticed that we have much more writing starting this week. Not only on Chinese but also on Math. Students did a great job on writing math story in Chinese. Love reading them.

- Red class get extra recess at morning from 10:30 to 10:40. Thank you all for the fast response on the parent survey. Blue class will get an extra recess on Monday at the same time, too. I took some pictures while kids playing outside over the extra recess. :) All students got a candy for bring the parent survey back.
