Week 3 (09/03-09/06)
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
Quick look at next week!
Monday: Labor Day No School.
Tuesday:
Wednesday:
Thursday:
Friday: Chinese weekly writing test (same as Thursday’s Chinese homework).
Others:
1. Parent volunteers needed: First I want to thank you all who came and help. I still need parent volunteers to come and help sorting math worksheets. Thanks in advance.
2. Friday reading help video here: https://youtu.be/-8g3Y7DgHxg
3. For Friday’s homework, it is a reading assignment that your child read it to you and you sign after you hear them reading.
4. We still have some students who haven’t registered to the school yet. Please check your child’s folder for the direction or just contact the school office at 435-833-1940 to register your child. The students that are not registered are going to have to miss recess, P.E. (because of Concussion Policy) and computers (because of the Acceptable Use Policy).
5. Daily Chinese writing stroke order, definition, hand writing practice, homework download, class videos and pictures here: http://2ndchinesedli.weebly.com/week-2-0826-ndash-0830.html
6. Please remind your kid to look at me while I am teaching. It’s nearly impossible for our kids to understand me speaking in another language if they don’t look at me. I care this point a lot so I think it would be good for our parents to remind their kids at home as well. Thanks.
7. I will keep emailing/texting parents whose child speak English (intentionally or accidentally) in classroom. Please help me to make this strategy successful. Once you got my email/text, please talk with your child. The purpose of doing this is to build up our children’s habit of speaking Chinese in my classroom.
8. Please sign and return the disclosure and photo/video permission in your child’s homework folder if you haven’t yet. I won’t be able to upload your child’s picture or video until you sign the permission.

Please follow the stroke order while your kid is writing Chinese homework. Click on each word for stroke order and other information about the character. To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character below, and it will open a new window. Then click on the brush under the word, then you will be able to practice handwriting the character(see the videos below for an example). I really love this function and hope our kids can use it.
