Who's in Mrs. Huang's classroom this week: Morning BLUE Class; Afternoon RED Class.
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
1. Breaking news: Just heard from USOE (Utah State Office of Education) DLI program that all 2nd grad students will take YCT level 2 test by the end of this school year. (What? What? What?) Yes! I know! We don't really have enough time for kids to do practice in school. Therefore, I am doing my best to make some YCT level 2 computer games for our kids to practice. However, as I said, we don't have enough time for students to practice in school so I NEED YOUR HELP. Please have students to play these games AT HOME when you have 10 or 15 minutes. Yes, 10 or 15 minutes a day is enough! Even 5 minutes is good! I am doing my best to make these games and hopefully you are doing your best to help your kid playing them. We can do it! :) I made 3 games for this week. Enjoy!

3. AAPPL test is moving forward to October 2016!
4. We will still do the weekly test. That is, we will have both weekly test and YCT level 2 test on Friday. Please help your students on Thursday's homework as it is exactly the same as weekly test on Friday. The answer key order is the same as the question order.

Chinese homework stroke Order, definition, and handwriting practice
Please follow the stroke order while your kid is writing Chinese homework. Click on each word for stroke order and other information about the character. To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character below, and it will open a new window. - Bell ringer: Students in morning class (Blue this week) came in to the class and play the YCT level 2 listening practice computer game (sample 1-1 today) and then write down their scores on the white board (as shown in the pic below). Many students got 100 points at their first try. Woo-hoo!
- Calendar time: speaking and writing: students say today, yesterday, the day before yesterday, and the day after tomorrow's date and day. And then they write down on their small white board.
- Listening & Writing: students listen to the YCT level 2 listening game (sample 1-1) and then write down the correct answer. (Not just choose the right answer but to write down the answer.)
- Speaking and listening: Play "I am the super star" game. One student was chosen to be the first super star. Students need to ask the super star questions and the super star needs to answer questions. The super star can pick the next super star after few minutes.
- Speaking and listening: play the "big wind blow" game. Students need to hear that the "guest" want to blow away and they need to move their seats if they have something match. For example, when the "guest" says to blow away those who wear white clothes, then those who have white on them need to move and find another chair to sit. The one who can't find a chair to sit is the next guest.
- Worksheets: for word recognize and sentence completion.
- Reading: read out loud together. Book: my story garden set.
