Week 4 (09/14 - 09/18)
Who's in Mrs. Huang's classroom this week: Morning Blue Class; Afternoon Red Class.
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
1. For week 4, we will have YCT mock test 2 & 3 on Tuesday and Friday. Please help your kids to familiar YCT vocabulary by playing YCT games below. Also, you can have them review YCT level 1 vocabulary here!
2. Remember that I will have a Chinese homework vocabulary test everyday. It is a way to help our students pay attention on their homework and also I can see if there's any vocabulary I need to review with them in different ways in the classroom.
3. I will be gone for professional training on 9/17 (Thursday).
4. I've update students' YCT score from 9/3 and homework vocabulary test score. You can log in to your students' accounts to see them. I noticed that some students got better score on question sheets than on answer sheets. I take the score from answer sheets because that is the one will be recorded when students take real YCT test. Please note that these mock test and homework vocabulary test scores will be counted into our report card even though I won't put high percentage on them.
5. Just in case you didn't know that I found some useful Math links for our kids to learn math while having tons of fun. They are all in English, so I can't use them as a resource in our classroom but you can have your kids to play at home. ^_^ Click "Resources" on the top right to locate the links.
6. Again, I have updated some pics of students in classroom on Week 3 link, please check back to see them. I checked with your disclosure, but if I accidentally put your kid's picture(s) or video(s) on our class website and you don't want them to be, please let me know. (I believe it won't happen but for just in case).^_^

What students have done in Chinese class this week:
* Chinese Literacy
09/14 We started our Topic 16 我喜欢运动 (I like sports.). Students have learned some sport names and how to ask people "what sport do you like?" Students are not familiar with these names yet, but we will keep working on them.
09/15 We did a YCT level 1 mock test today. Practiced more on sport names.
09/16 We did a little review on sports. Also played a "guess who is talking" game to see what sentence students are able to speak. Students were having fun today. ^_^
* Math
09/14 we worked on "doubling" (2-2) today. We played a game to help students understanding the concept. We will need to do a little bit more on doubling in Red class as we didn't have enough time to complete it.
09/15 Completed math 2-3 (nearly doubling) today.
09/16 We reviewed Topic 2-1 to 2-3 and a little preview on 2-4.
* Interconnection (Science & Social Study)
