Week 6 (09/25 - 09/29)
Who's in Mrs. Huang's classroom this week: Morning BLUE Class; Afternoon RED Class.
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
1. We will complete our math topic 2 on Tuesday (09/26) and I will do a review on Thursday (09/28). The topic 2 test will be hold on Friday (09/29). We will send students home math topic 2 review on Thursday as homework. Please take your time to assist your kid to understand topic 2 concepts (If they can do Thursday’s math homework, then they will be fine on Friday’s test. However, your kid will need your help reading the math story to them to solve these problems. Thanks.
2. As always, Friday is Chinese writing test day. The test will be exactly the same as Thursday’s homework, so please take few minutes to visit our class website for stroke order, dictionary, and practice on hand writing to be prepared for Friday’s test (See class website link below).
3. Please remind your kid to look at me while I am teaching in class. It’s nearly impossible for our kids to understand me speaking in another language if they don’t look at me. I care this point a lot so I think it would be good for our parents to remind their kids at home as well. Thanks.
4. I received several email replies about coming to my classroom helping sorting math book sheets. Thank you so much for willing to help. You can come any time on your convenience. You will need my instruction on how to sorting them at first time, so please wait for me in classroom if I am in the middle of teaching a lesson. Thanks.
5. Our Chinese morning announcement students will be Logan C. and Jane from Blue class. (If one of these two kids are late on Monday, I’ll randomly pick another student for the week.).
6. Please visit our class website regularly so you can keep on the same page with us. Also, I’d like our kids to write Chinese character with the strake order on our class website at least once or twice a week, if you can’t do it every day. I have uploaded pictures and videos on our class website from the first week. I encourage you to ask your kid what we were doing in the picture which you would know if your kid knows the purpose and content we were learning in Chinese classroom. Visit our class website for week 6 here: http://2ndchinesedli.weebly.com/week-6-0925---0929.html and visit what students have learned from week 5 here: http://2ndchinesedli.weebly.com/week-5-0918---0922.html
7. If you are on Facebook, I encourage you to like our Northlake page to know what are going on at around Northlake: https://www.facebook.com/Northlake.Tooele.PTA/
8. Yes. We are doing it again. As you finish reading my weekly email, please reply to the email with your child’s name and you will earn your kid a spin ticket sticker. This Friday will be Spin Day. Thank you.

Chinese homework stroke Order, definition, and handwriting practice
Please follow the stroke order while your kid is writing Chinese homework. Click on each word for stroke order and other information about the character. To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character below, and it will open a new window.
