What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
1. No school for all on Monday, January 18th for MLK Day.
2. Term 3 begins on January 19th.
3. Term 2 report cards will be send home by Friday, January 22nd.
4. Our Chinese New Year celebration night is scheduled on Feb. 8th (Monday) from 6:00 pm.
5. Just a head up that our teacher parents conference will be on Feb. 17 & 18. Please note that we only have 15 minutes for each student.

- Weekly vocabulary recognizing: play the vocabulary matching game (words and pictures) in computer.
- Reading and speaking: Students read the mini book.
- Writing: students write YCT level 2 vocabulary on nootbook and on the fish-sharp paper. Few students' works were been selected to post on our "ocean wall" (YCT level 2 vocabulary wall).
Meth:
- Both class completed topic 9-4.
Interconnection (Science & Social Study)
- Describe characters of a thing. Students try to describe something's characters with vocabulary they know. For example, I took out a banana, and they know the name, the color is yellow, it's sweet, it's white inside, it's something monkey love.. and so on.

- Two students in a group. Each group has a lunch bag with some chips in it. Students need to count how many chips in the bag. One student, then, take out some chips. Then two students need to fill out the math sentence with the number of chips they just took out and find the answer of how many chips left in the bag.
- Experiment: Students describe objects (orange, water and salt, smartie candy), and then we weight the object. Then we change the shape/outlook of the object. Then wright it again. Then describe the object again. Students learn that you can change matter, but cannot change wright or mass.
