Week 36 (05/07-05/11)
Who's in Mrs. Huang's classroom this week: Morning BLUE Class; Afternoon RED Class.
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
Can you believe it that there are only 13 school days left this school year? There will be lots going on and kids will be kinda excited at this time of school year. I would like to keep our school days as normal as I can and hope parents can help to do the same. We will still have weekly YCT and Chinese writing tests going on until 5/18.
1. Your kids should bring home a note about Chinese summer school. If you didn’t get it, please let me know.
2. We have several end-of-school-year reward based activities that are coming soon. The two our kids are excited about are swimming (5/17) and field day (5/21). Please note that these activities are reward based so your kids will need to well behaved and turn in their homework daily to participant. Let me know if you have any questions.
3. Our kids will have math lesson 15 test on next Monday (5/14). We will finish math lessons on this Friday. We will do review on the rest of school days.
4. YCT level 2 test on this and next Thursday will be a brand new one and I am not going to have our kids practice on these two test samples. I will have kids to practice YCT level 2 vocabulary at school but will not have them to practice questions via any methods. Please check the link here for YCT level 2 vocabulary list: http://2ndchinesedli.weebly.com/resources.html
5. Quizizz game codes: Unit 13-3: 345863 ; 13-2: 234357; Unit 13-1: 435625. Here’s how: a). Open https://join.quizizz.com in your browser b) Enter the 6-digit game code, and click "Proceed" c) Now enter your student's name and click "Join Game!" d) You will get an avatar, and then see a "Start Game" button. Click it to begin!
6. We are learning Mandarin Matrix book 13-3 this week. Please have your kid to log in to our online class and practice at home. Link here: www.mandarinmatrix.com
7. Chinese morning announcement students will be XXX and XXX from Blue class.
8. Our weekly writing test will still going on Friday. Please make sure your kid spend long time on Thursday’s homework as the test on Friday is the same as Thursday’s homework.
10. Be sure you visit our class website and have your kid practice stroke order at least 2 words a day. Our class website provides many information you will need including homework download (Chinese and math), Chinese homework writing stroke order, translation, as well as our class pictures and videos. Chinese homework stroke Order, definition, and handwriting practice
Please follow the stroke order while your kid is writing Chinese homework. Click on each word for stroke order and other information about the character. To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character below, and it will open a new window. Then click on the brush under the word, then you will be able to practice handwriting the character(see the videos below for an example). I really love this function and hope our kids can use it.
