Week 7 (09/30-10/4)
What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
Dear parents:
Quick look at next week!
Monday:
Tuesday: 2nd-grade English intervention starts
Wednesday: 1. Parent-teacher conference 4-8 pm; 2. Lock-down drill 9:30am
Thursday: 1. Math Topic 3 test (in English); 2. Parent-teacher conference 4-8 pm
Friday: Chinese weekly writing test
Others:
1. If you haven’t signed up for the parent-teacher conference yet, do it as soon as you can. I will start to assign those who haven’t sign up time over this weekend. Please expect to receive my text this weekend. If you want to sign up now, go to www.ptcfast.com/reg1 and enter code W7B1179105
2. I sent home information about Mandarin Matrix. Each child has their own log in name and password. Thanks to the district, all DLI students can have their own account for free. The district spends lots of money on accounts for students so we do want to use it as much as we can. J I assigned book (unit) 1-1, 1-2, and 1-3 on it already. Let me know if you have any questions/problems with it. Thanks
3. From this week, we have Quizizz game online for our students to play at home. They are all I designed so they are all the same concept/words/and even pictures from what students are learning from school. Please play it as a game (for fun) from home. This week’s game is unit 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3. Please play unit 1-1 and unit 1-2 first as a review and play 1-3 maybe after Tuesday or Wednesday. Quizizz game: Link for Unit 1-1: join.quizizz.com?gc=631801 and unit 1-2: join.quizizz.com?gc=873182 and unit 1-3: join.quizizz.com?gc=818579
4. We will finish math topic 3 this Wednesday and will have a test followed by very soon. Please do your best to help with their daily math homework as it is not an easy topic for most of our students. The topic is to teach our students many different ways (strategies) to solve a problem.
5. I just want to remind you that students learn math, science, social studies, and Chinese with the Chinese language. So please check your student’s understanding, especially math, daily. The best way to do so is to sit with your student while they are doing their daily math homework because the homework is the same concept as I taught the same day. It does require patient and perseverance to do it every day but it will pay off in your child’s academic future.
