What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
Monday: Fire drill at 2pm; Fire Department assembly at 2:15 pm for grade 1-3.
Tuesday: Practice your child’s addition math fact
Wednesday: Practice your child’s addition math fact
Thursday: Mrs. Huang gone for presenting (with other DLI teachers) at a conference in AZ.
Friday: Mrs. Huang gone for presenting (with our other DLI teachers) at a conference in AZ; Chinese weekly writing test
Others:
1. Thank you all for coming to our parent teacher conference (PTC). We wish we could have longer time to talk with each of you but the high student number we have doesn’t allow us to do so within only 2 nights. Please let us know if you have anything else you feel like you want us to know and forgot to mention during our PTC. Thank you
2. I am glad that many parents are taking the advantage of the Mandarin Matrix (MMX) online account. It is a handy resource for both students and parents. Our district invests a huge amount of money on these student accounts and we don’t want to waist the money. We don’t know if we will get free accounts for students next year, so please utilize it as you can. Let me know if you lose your child’s log in information. For those who told me to send you one, I will do it later this afternoon. Please check your email. I also attached the student manual in this email, please follow the direction to log in. Log in to MMX here: https://www.mandarinmatrix.com/
3. From this week, we have Quizizz game online for our students to play at home. They are all I designed so they are all the same concept/words/and even pictures from what students are learning from school. Please play it as a game (for fun) from home. This week’s game is unit 2-1. Please also review game unit 1-1, 1-2 and 1-3.

4. I just want to remind you that students learn math, science, social studies, and Chinese with the Chinese language. So please check your student’s understanding, especially math, daily. The best way to do so is to sit with your student while they are doing their daily math homework because the homework is the same concept as I taught the same day. It does require patient and perseverance to do it every day but it will pay off in your child’s academic future.

Please follow the stroke order while your kid is writing Chinese homework. Click on each word for stroke order and other information about the character. To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character below, and it will open a new window.
