What Mrs. Huang wants to say to you:
1. Your kids should bring home a note about Chinese summer school. If you didn’t get it, please let me know.
2. We have several end-of-school-year reward based activities that are coming soon. The two our kids are excited about are swimming (5/17) and field day (5/21). Please note that these activities are reward based so your kids will need to well behaved and turn in their homework daily to participant. Let me know if you have any questions.
3. We need volunteers on field day (5/21 morning). If you are available to help our kids (not only 2nd grade but the entire school), please let me know and I will send your info to the teacher who is in charge of field day. Thank you.
4. YCT level 2 test on this Thursday will be sample 5. Please download sample 5 games at out class website for your kid to practice at home. Also, we have Quizizz game for sample 5 as well. http://2ndchinesedli.weebly.com/resources.html

9. We still have weekly writing test on Friday. Please make sure your kid spend long time on Thursday’s homework as the test on Friday is the same as Thursday’s homework.
10. Be sure you visit our class website and have your kid practice stroke order at least 2 words a day. Our class website provides many information you will need including homework download (Chinese and math), Chinese homework writing stroke order, translation, as well as our class pictures and videos. I encourage you to ask your kid what we were doing in the picture which you would know if your kid knows the purpose and content we were learning in Chinese classroom. Chinese homework stroke Order, definition, and handwriting practice
Please follow the stroke order while your kid is writing Chinese homework. Click on each word for stroke order and other information about the character. To go to the handwriting practice function, please click on each character below, and it will open a new window. Then click on the brush under the word, then you will be able to practice handwriting the character(see the videos below for an example). I really love this function and hope our kids can use it.
